Who You Are:
The Director of Global Retail Planning will oversee retail financial inventory planning processes globally across regional retail markets, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and financial objectives. This role is responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation, reporting, tracking key performance trends across regions, and providing insights that drive strategic decision-making through the S&OP process. The Director will partner closely with regional retail planning teams, supply chain planning, production, and corporate finance to ensure accurate forecasts, optimized inventory, and effective demand planning. Additionally, they will drive standardization across regions and shape the retail planning capabilities (process, system, organization) for the future.
What You’ll Do:
Retail Planning and Reporting:
- Attend and contribute to monthly Open-to-Buy (OTB) meetings for each region, understanding the risks and opportunities to the global forecast.
- Drive the consolidation and analysis of global OTB rollups to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor global inventory performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to optimize inventory levels and improve turnover.
- Partner with finance, merchandising, and supply chain teams to deliver comprehensive data and insights for budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation.
- Develop, implement, and oversee a consistent framework for global reporting to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable insights across regions.
- Drive standardization across regions and shape the retail planning capabilities (Process, System, Organization) for the future.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Collaborate with the supply chain planning team to assess inventory forecasts and underlying assumptions, ensuring alignment with demand trends and business objectives.
- Participate in the monthly Executive Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, providing key insights into global inventory positioning and potential adjustments.
- Partner with production teams to analyze demand plans and costing strategies, ensuring that all cross-functional teams operate with accurate and up-to-date information.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Build strong partnerships with regional teams, ensuring consistent communication and alignment on global initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver accurate financial projections and align on key investment decisions.
- Monitor and report on macro and micro trends in the fashion retail industry, influencing planning strategies accordingly.
- Lead a team to deliver on strategic objectives and support cross-functional collaboration.
You’ll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in retail operations, business process optimization, inventory management, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing global reporting, OTB rollups, and inventory analysis.
- Strong understanding of retail planning & operations, inventory management, and financial metrics.
- Expertise in business systems and tools (e.g., ERP, merchandise planning systems, reporting platforms).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and large-scale initiatives.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience using data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels.
