We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Fleet & Delivery Operations Manager to oversee and participate in the daily delivery operations from our Las Vegas commissary to multiple retail locations across the region. This is a hybrid role that combines leadership, logistics coordination, and hands-on delivery work.
In addition to managing drivers, vehicles, and delivery routes, you will also be responsible for driving company vehicles and performing deliveries as needed to ensure smooth and timely service. You will also be accountable for ensuring all safety and compliance protocols are strictly followed to protect drivers, equipment, and the company.
This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is a key part of our operations leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Management:
- Oversee a fleet of delivery trucks, including leased vehicles, ensuring proper maintenance, cleanliness, fueling, and readiness.
- Coordinate and schedule regular vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Manage vehicle leases, registrations, and ensure compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enforce vehicle safety and cleanliness protocols.
Delivery & Driving Responsibilities:
- Perform regular deliveries to retail locations using company trucks.
- Regularly schedule yourself for delivery routes.
- Step in to cover delivery routes in cases of staff shortages, call-outs, or high-volume days.
- Load, transport, and unload food products safely and efficiently, following all food safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and ensure excellent customer service at each delivery point.
Driver & Route Management:
- Manage, schedule, and support a team of delivery drivers.
- Optimize delivery routes for efficiency, timeliness, and fuel savings.
- Provide driver training on safety procedures, customer service, and operational policies.
- Monitor driver performance and compliance with DOT regulations and company standards.
Compliance & Safety Oversight:
- Ensure full compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including maintaining current vehicle registrations and documentation.
- Ensure all drivers perform required pre- and post-shift safety inspections and walk-arounds of their vehicles.
- Address and document any vehicle damage or safety concerns immediately and take corrective action.
- Maintain up-to-date records of driver certifications, licenses, and safety training.
- Develop and reinforce a culture of safety and accountability across the entire delivery team.
Food Delivery Operations:
- Ensure all deliveries meet food safety standards and maintain product integrity.
- Coordinate with commissary and retail locations to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries.
- Implement SOPs for temperature control, loading procedures, and safe handling practices.
- Troubleshoot delivery or customer issues quickly and effectively.
Administrative & Reporting:
- Track and report on delivery performance, vehicle usage, fuel costs, and other logistics metrics.
- Maintain driver logs, maintenance records, compliance documentation, and route reports.
- Work closely with the COO to assess operational needs and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in fleet or delivery operations, preferably in food or retail logistics.
- Hands-on delivery experience and willingness to drive trucks regularly.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of DOT compliance, vehicle maintenance, route optimization, and safety protocols.
- Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with OSHA and food safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse and driving environments.
