About The Role
The Allocator role will help Shinola achieve our expectation of having the right products in the right place at the right time, leading to increased satisfaction and a better shopping experience for our customers. This position regularly collaborates with multiple departments, including Planning, Retail and Visual Merchandising, to grow our core products and launch new. In an ever-changing retail environment, we are looking for an Allocator who will jump into customer feedback and help implement positive changes to help Shinola achieve our goals. We are looking for someone who has both analytical and creative strength- you are savvy with sales and inventory data, and can also creatively visualize assortments and contribute to enhancing the store experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Align with Planner on initial distribution strategy, store assortment plan while providing recommendations for change based on selling/inventory levels.
- Execute allocation plans by accurately distributing merchandise to stores/DC according to predetermined parameters
- Regular communication with stores (visiting in-person, when able to) confirming that their needs are being met.
- Monitor inventory levels at individual stores/DC and make adjustments as necessary to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
- Maintain in-stock reports on a store/ecomm level while communicating out any delays and or miss to sales based on inventory shortages.
- Re-balance store stock levels via pullbacks and store to store transfers as needed, issuing liquidation pullbacks quarterly inclusive of store to outlet transfer direction.
- Ensuring inventory re-balancing is completed prior to the season.
- Track new product performance in stores and communicate to key stakeholders
- Provide recommendations to the current store assortment based on item performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree required
- 1-2 years of allocation experience preferred
- Experience with NetSuite (Oracle) and/or NewStore preferred
