About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the logistics, procurement, inventory and third-party logistics (3PL) management processes. You will assist in optimizing supply chain operations, ensuring timely deliveries, managing vendor relationships, and driving cost efficiencies. Your contributions will help us maintain smooth operations while enhancing service delivery and improving overall performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics:
- Assist in identifying and sourcing freight and last-mile delivery carriers to ensure timely, cost-effective service.
- Collaborate with senior team members to negotiate competitive rates, delivery terms, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with transportation vendors.
- Coordinate and monitor the movement of goods, ensuring accuracy in orders and timely deliveries.
- Manage shipment scheduling and tracking, working closely with transportation providers and carriers to ensure timely arrivals.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including shipping labels and Bills of Lading (BOLs).
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and customers to resolve any issues regarding deliveries, shipments, or inventory.
- Review and audit invoices for accuracy, identifying billing discrepancies and working with vendors to resolve them.
- Generate detailed reports on shipping costs and carrier performance, driving cost optimization and improved service efficiency.
Procurement:
- Assist in sourcing suppliers for required materials to meet operational needs.
- Support the procurement process by requesting quotes, preparing purchase orders, and tracking order fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, and vendor information.
- Monitor inventory levels and place reorder requests to ensure continuous production or operation.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
- Help analyze supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Resolve any discrepancies in orders, payments, or deliveries in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
- Maintain and update procurement databases and reporting tools to track purchasing activities.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure all purchasing requirements are met on time and within budget.
Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for any operational issues related to third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Handle customer complaints, resolve discrepancies, and address operational challenges with 3PL partners.
- Coordinate the flow of goods and materials, ensuring effective communication between vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Track logistics performance and provide regular reports and recommendations for process improvements to optimize operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement.
- Familiarity with logistics systems, supply chain software, and inventory management tools.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience working with transportation vendors and suppliers.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools.
