OPERATIONS MANAGER - The Work
The
OPERATIONS MANAGER is key in delivering 1UP’s Legendary Hospitality. In addition to being an effective communicator and having mastered key operational responsibilities and supreme people and customer service skills, you will have responsibilities including:
Management and People
- Managing facility operations including Restaurant Front of House, Arcade and Bowling Operations functions, while holding self and teams accountable to company standards and the non-negotiable outcome of an AMAZING guest experience
- Inspiring an environment of professionalism and Legendary Hospitality
- Leading by example through routine communication and meeting rhythms

- Attracting, hiring, training, and retaining top talent
- Setting and managing optimal staffing levels and scheduling
- Demonstrating effective conflict and incident resolution
- Serves as knowledge source of operational best practices and can translate those practices into work product including operational manuals, processes, and procedures
- Assisting in all functional areas of operations management
- Utilizing all available data/resources to understand and report on applicable facility performance
- Overseeing and maintaining all processes and procedures including in-house cash handling procedures
Operations
- Contribute to the Build of 1UP’s Food, beverage, and attractions programs including market analysis, staffing, vendor management, and operating procedures that will maximize efficiency for flagship and new future locations.
- Create, implement, and evolve 1UP League, VIP Loyalty and Selling programs
- Achieve budget KPIS and goals
- Monitor all aspects of the business using various methods and financial reporting (day to day monitoring, projections, labor, sales trends, training investments), and then use the data to coach and re-establish goals
- Managing all facility operations to ensure optimal efficiency, employee experience, and guest satisfaction
- Ensuring F+B operations adheres to recipes to ensure consistent food quality and presentation
- Establishing procedures to ensure that the environment is clean, safe, and in good repair for employees and guests exceeding health and sanitation regulations
- Ensure flawless execution and results of new restaurant/bar openings (pre and post open)
- Open/Close Responsibilities for entire facility
- Other duties as directed
The Requirements - MUST HAVE PROVEN track record (3-5+ years) with hands on management and oversight for a successful restaurant, entertainment, and/or hospitality establishment.
- Proactive mindset with strong passion for hospitality, service, and guest experience
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast paced environment
- Ability to manage controllable line items, analyze and provide input on cost saving measures, proper execution, and efficient output
- Willingness to work a varying schedule including nights/weekends/holidays
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of P & L
- Develops individual and teams
- Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
- Food Safety Certification and knowledge of local regulations
- Must be 21+ year old
- Physical demands* include but are not limited to:
- Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for several hours at a time.
- Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend, reach, mop, sweep, and kneel and have the ability to lift bus tubs, glass racks and trays frequently weighing up to 25-50 pounds
- Work conditions with both hot and cold temperatures
