Global law firm is seeking an HR Business Partner to join their team in Manhattan. The ideal candidate will have previous human resources experience out of a large law firm, advisory or financial firm. Must have experience supporting multiple groups.
Salary: $120-150K base
Hybrid schedule, 4 days onsite, 1 remote
Hours: 8:30-5
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing human resources and providing strategic support across multiple groups
- Partner with stakeholders to drive and shape succession planning and compensation processes
- Collaborate with HR departments to align initiatives and ensure consistency
- Advise partners and attorneys on HR matters and policies
- Lead change initiatives to enhance HR programs, keeping them relevant to the firm's evolving needs
- Analyze HR data and metrics to recommend strategies for engagement, retention, and performance improvement
- Resolve workplace conflicts through mediation and communication, ensuring compliance with policies
- Support attorneys for leave of absence needs and other transitions, advising on benefits
- Collaborate with General Counsel to mitigate employment risks and ensure adherence to legal requirements
- Conduct exit interviews, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Support attorney review processes, promoting fair performance and reward outcomes
- Contribute to workforce planning and talent pipeline reviews, identifying skill gaps and training needs
- Assist with hiring strategies, supporting onboarding to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
- Implement wellbeing initiatives, leveraging employee feedback to improve workplace satisfaction
- Actively engage with employees to identify key themes affecting their experience, driving strategic solutions
- Support headcount forecasting and budget planning, ensuring alignment with business strategy
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data to inform HR decisions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of human resources experience out of a law firm or similar environment, with experience supporting multiple groups
- SHRM/HRC Certification preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented and ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Strategic and problem solver
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and HRIS systems
