Reporting the SVP of Supply Chain this role will have full responsibility for our North American distribution centers in Texas, Pennsylvania, Mexico, Canada.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversee all aspects of the distribution center, including safety, customer first mentality, physical assets, operating costs, , loss prevention, inventory integrity, and team members.
- Responsible for the service to our channels by maintaining on time delivery, accuracy of shipments and good customer relations.
- Provide excellent leadership, training, and guidance throughout the DC and work to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.
- Manage, track, and maintain accurate inventories.
- Maintain an up-to-date WMS on a daily basis and level-up the development as we scale
- Establish and exceed KPIs to ensure customer and business needs are consistently achieved with highly visible performance data
- Work within a budget by operating within the targets for each distribution center
- Building a culture that is always improving and challenges the status quo
- Travel to each warehouse to support, train, and develop the warehouse manager(s) and their teams
Key Performance Indicators
The successful Senior Director of Operations will deliver metrics of success such as:
- Strong safety culture driven by near miss submittals and warehouse employee engagement
- On time delivery of 99% or higher
- Order accuracy of 99.5% or higher
- Picking Accuracy of 99% or higher
- Receipt of inbound containers within 24 hours
- Working within the labor budget as a % of sales
- Ensuring small parcel, LTL and TL costs are to budget levels in line with customer delivery needs
- Working within the supplies budget as a % of sales
- Tight controls of inventory management with little impact from inventory adjustments
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of direct management experience in a high-volume distribution center required, experience overseeing multiple locations highly preferred
- Broad exposure to retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods industry
- Experience with the implementation and use of Order Management , Warehouse Management and transport management systems
- Previous experience with NetSuite preferred an understanding of Ship Hero an advantage
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint programs
- Experience with safety and loss prevention
- Facilities management knowledge
- Ability to optimize inventory control procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Proven track record of improving efficiencies of shipping, fulfillment, and transportation of goods
- Demonstrated history of reducing costs and increasing the bottom line
- Must be local or have ability to relocate to the DFW area.
- Have the ability to travel to warehouse locations anywhere from 2-6 times per year as needed.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, write, analyze general business documents, reports, governmental regulations, Ability to generate financial and operational reports, procedures, emails, correspondences.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
