UI/UX Designer Job Specification
Job Title: UI/UX Designer
Salary Range: $120,000 - $125,000 annually
Location: Remote (must reside within 50 miles of the greater DC/Northern Virginia area)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to enhance the usability and interaction design of digital products. This remote role offers a competitive salary and an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team focused on improving user experiences. The ideal candidate will conduct usability testing, create design concepts, and present findings to both internal teams and end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct usability testing, including preparing test plans, creating wireframes, facilitating test sessions, analyzing data, and presenting results.
- Develop information design concepts using wireframes, prototypes, and task flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless user experiences.
- Conduct user interviews and contextual inquiries to gather insights.
- Utilize user tracking and metrics tools (e.g., Matomo) to analyze and monitor user behavior.
- Visualize and report on user metrics through Qlik and Tableau.
- Effectively communicate with end-users, internal teams, and stakeholders, translating complex data and design concepts into understandable insights.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience, OR
- Master's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience:
- Proven experience in usability testing, including creating and analyzing test plans and wireframes.
- Strong background in creating wireframes, prototypes, and task flow diagrams to communicate design concepts.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting user interviews and contextual inquiries.
- Proficiency in user tracking tools (e.g., Matomo) and visualization platforms such as Qlik and Tableau.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Security Clearance:
- Active TS (Top Secret) clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Usability or UX-related certification (e.g., Certified Usability Analyst, CUA) is a plus.
