Incendia Therapeutics is a precision oncology company dedicated to reprogramming the tumor microenvironment with the express intent of bringing recalcitrant cancers into submission. We recognize that cancer cells create a hostile microenvironment to privilege their own survival at the expense of the host tissue. Incendia’s approach is to attack the structural and biochemical underpinnings of the tumor microenvironment to enable host immune cells and therapeutics to reach the tumor.
Our mission is to serve cancer patients who are the most in need of novel therapeutics. Everything we do is guided by caring for and doing the right thing for those patients. The Company’s most advanced clinical program is a clinical trial evaluating safety and potential efficacy of PRTH-101 in patients with advanced solid tumors (NCT05753722).

Description
Incendia Therapeutics is seeking a self-motivated individual who desires to have a direct impact on the science within our early stage, fast-paced, and dynamic biotech. The candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in developing and performing molecular and cellular tumor biology assays and an abiding interest in drug discovery.
Responsibilities
The principle associate scientist will be part of our preclinical program. This individual is expected to establish and execute in vitro assays and ex vivo models to validate therapeutic targets, demonstrate efficacy of lead candidates, and perform detailed mechanism of action studies internally and with external partners. They will have the opportunity to design and execute non-routine experiments with a high level of autonomy and minimal supervision.
Here's What You'll Do:
- Culture and engineer cells for in vitro and in vivo studies
- Isolate and culture primary cells from human and mouse blood
- Immune profiling mouse and human tumors.
- Perform PD/PK assays to evaluate lead candidates
- Perform and design various in vitro experiments with human and mouse cells to discover therapeutic antibody drug candidates and uncover novel insights into target biology. Relevant assays include, but not limited to:
- Protein and cell-based binding and functional assays, including flow cytometry and reporter cell assays
- Evaluate cellular biomarkers using a variety of methods (e.g., immunofluorescence, live-cell imaging, qRT-PCR, ELISAs, Westerns, etc)
- Evaluate cellular phenotypic endpoints using various growth, differentiation, phenotyping, migration, and morphology assays
- Support in vivo studies
- Analyze and present data using FlowJo, Excel, and Prism in professional 'publication ready' format. Properly record and document results in a timely fashion
- Demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication
- Collaborate closely with other teams within the organization
Requirements & Qualifications
The position will report directly to the Senior Scientist, Research.
Qualifications include:
- B.S/B.A in life sciences (immunology preferred, oncology, cell biology, or a related discipline) with 6 years laboratory research experience minimum. Industry experience is preferred
- Proficiency with multicolor flow cytometry and cell culture is a must
- Extensive experience with cell engineering and cell-based function assays (e.g., CRISPR/siRNA, transient and stable transfection of mammalian cell lines, reporter cell assays, T cell killing assay, live-cell imaging)
- Experience with routine molecular biology techniques and cell-based assays (e.g., qRT-PCR, Western blotting, ELISA, immunofluorescence)
- Experience with mouse tumor model PK/PD assays (e.g., ex vivo immune profiling, serum ELISA)
- Willingness to perform in vivo study is preferred. Experience with in vivo studies is a plus, including handling mice, dosing, collecting and processing tissues
- Ability to thrive in fast paced environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute experiments, interpret results, effectively troubleshoot as needed, and properly record experimental data in an electronic laboratory notebook in a highly organized manner
Benefits
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Opportunity for professional development and career advancement
- A supportive and innovative work environment
- Access to cutting-edge technology and research tools
