Job Description
The
Manager of the Food Truck Fleet is responsible for overseeing all Food Truck Operations and associated logistics of a fleet of food trucks stationed across the country. This includes but is not limited to transport, maintenance, operation, and overall care of the Food Truck Fleet. The Manager of the Food Truck Fleet is responsible for working cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Facilities, Marketing, and Meetings and Events, to ensure the fleet is operating at Raising Cane’s standards at all times.
The physical work environment includes working in a fast-paced kitchen environment (which requires extended periods of physical exertion, such as walking, standing, lifting and bending) and interacting with customers. It also includes both inside and outside work in varied temperatures, working with and around food products, common allergens, industrial equipment, commercial cleaning products that require the use of personal protective equipment and physical activities necessary to complete the responsibilities of the job.
Responsibilities
Your Impact and Responsibilities:
- Owns the food truck program, including vetting event opportunities with internal partners for planning and approval, and leading the communication of all approved events with involved leaders ensuring preparation for all events
- Continually monitors and reports any gaps in the operation or maintenance needs of the with food trucks and works with appropriate RSO Functions to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Ensures the evolution of the food truck operating principles, equipment maintenance, maintenance schedules and food-safe environments
- Builds systems and subsequently tracks all items related to the fleet
- Communicates clearly with Food Truck Leads about standards expectations
- Ensures the environment is safe for all crewmembers and customers
- Owns the performance of the entire truck fleet, including leading through long hours, lengthy travel, and maintaining standards in non-traditional settings
- Works effectively with external partners, such as transport and logistics companies, commissary/distribution managers, event planners and talent agents
- Plans and oversees food truck events from ideation to execution including the day-to-day operations and needs of the food trucks
- Facilitates daily operations within the food trucks and at offsite venues, such as commissaries and distribution hubs
- Maintains proper product and small wares inventory levels and item pars for all events which includes working collaboratively with the supply chain team to find creative avenues for product procurement in non-branded markets
- Oversees and maintains food truck cleanliness and image
- Oversees maintenance plans for the food truck fleet and cares for the trucks reflecting the high value assets they are
- Obtains annual registration and inspection stickers and paperwork
- Works with internal and external parties to ensure Trucks are properly permitted for each event
Qualifications
- 5+ years professional food-related industry experience (restaurant preferred)
- 3+ years managerial experience
- Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
- Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Must exercise professional judgment and discretion at events, including maintaining confidentiality and privacy of customers
- Expert in restaurant operations, people and assets management, food truck operations and automotive maintenance (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Microsoft Proficient: Word, Excel & Power Point
- Travel as required, up to 75%
