Job Description
NBC News is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the two Executive Vice Presidents of NBC News. This role serves as a key liaison between the EVP’s office and internal NBCUniversal departments, as well as external partners. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, discreet, and capable of managing a wide range of administrative and executive support tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative support including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, expense reporting, and general office management tasks.
- Organize and schedule meetings and conference calls with both internal stakeholders and external partners, often adjusting plans quickly based on shifting priorities.
- Manage heavy phone and email communication with senior-level executives and staff across the organization.
- Screen calls, visitors, and correspondence; respond to routine inquiries and provide relevant information as needed.
- Exercise sound judgment when handling inquiries from vendors, candidates, and employees; resolve issues as appropriate.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Plan and execute internal events and meetings, including senior staff gatherings and off-sites—managing all logistics such as vendor coordination, catering, AV setup, and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of experience in news production and/or executive-level administrative support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with the utmost professionalism.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional time management skills; able to balance multiple projects in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed—especially during breaking news events.
- Must be based in or willing to work in New York City, in person five days a week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced media or production environment.
- Strong sense of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive materials.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to analyze information and anticipate needs.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with NBC News programming, on-air talent, and internal workflows.
- Experience with newsroom tools such as iNews, AVID Interplay, and video editing software.
- A genuine passion for news and politics.

- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
