Client Overview
Our client is a consumer goods manufacturer and is looking to add a
Logistics Lead to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$40/hr - $50/hr Depending on experience
Position Overview
The Logistics Lead will oversee the company's domestic and international logistics and shipping and ensure that shipments arrive at their proper destinations on time.
Responsibilities Of The Logistics Lead
- Oversee and manage daily logistics processes, ensuring that materials are shipped accurately, on time, and in compliance with any relevant requirements.
- Track the movement of goods from origin to destination using various tracking systems.
- Promptly resolve any issues such as shipping delays, damaged goods, documentation discrepancies, or carrier-related problems promptly.
- Communicate with client logistics representatives.
- Generate and verify various shipping documents such as Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Shipping Labels.
- The Logistics Lead will stay updated on shipping regulations, customs laws, and hazardous material handling procedures to ensure shipments comply with legal requirements.
Required Experience for the Logistics Lead:
- A minimum of 5 years of logistics experience in industry is required for the Logistics Lead.
- Knowledge of the full shipping process from order to delivery.
- Experience with international shipments and logistics (air, sea) as well as domestic (UPS, USPS, DHL, etc.).
- Be able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of shipping documents.
Preferred Experience for the Logistics Lead:
- Experience in the food/beverage, chemicals, or other regulated industry.
- Knowledge of Incoterms.
- Experience dealing with customs.
Education Requirements:
- A GED or high school diploma is required for the Logistics Lead.
- A college degree is preferred.
