The Director of Sales and Operations Planning is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for leading the supply chain and operations processes to ensure alignment across sales, finance, and operations to drive operational efficiencies. This position develops strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement in demand signals, inventory health, and supply chain optimization to meet customer expectations, while minimizing holding costs. The director will work cross across the organization to develop and implement strategies that enable collaboration, improve efficiencies and drive business objectives.
This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and is based out of Irvine, CA and it will take functional direction from the Head of the Planning Center of Excellence (CoE).
As the Director of Sales and Operations Planning, you will have an opportunity to:
- Lead Strategic Planning across the platform: Develop and implement supply chain and operations strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives. This includes Demand planning, Supply planning, Procurement, Supply Operations, and leading the overall Sales and operations planning process.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure they are maintained at optimal levels. Implement systems and processes to track inventory and improve turnover rates. Ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time. Monthly reporting of inventory, E&O, and other factors (PFAS), and creating reporting for the projections regarding the forecast for the rest of the year. Create an open to buy model that is used as a reference that aligns with the inventory budget and ensures monthly and annual compliance to required inventory budget adjusted to revenue performance.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions within the Sales and Operations Process.
- Lead initiatives to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of planning professionals. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages customer service and continuous improvement. Support CoE requirements and monthly meetings.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly KPI’s in support of the CoE. These include OTIF, Daily Revenue, Orders on Hold and corrective actions and Backorder resolution timing.
- Backorder Management. Work with Supply Operations to ensure reporting and timely resolution to back-ordered products.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data and generate reports to provide insights into supply chain performance. Utilize these insights to make informed decisions and drive improvements.
- Key member of the supply chain and operations leadership team, working with peers to transform the organization and execute on the strategic vision.
- Support and lead the organization on its S&OP/IBP journey, building the team, process, and tools to succeed on that journey.
- Monthly executive S&OP meeting and regular interaction and collaboration with senior leadership.
- Cross functional collaboration working closely with other departments such as product development, commercial and finance to ensure alignment and support execution for supply chain and other business initiatives.
You have:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, MBA or PMP certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years of supply chain experience, with a focus on forecasting concepts and techniques; at least 5 years of people leadership experience.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, familiarity with end-to-end supply chain planning tools, and experience with various manufacturing concepts and procedures.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Project, Office, SharePoint, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), planning tools and analytical dashboards (Power BI).
