Legal Assistant – Premier Law Firm (NYC Office)
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Legal Assistant to support our
premier client partner law firm. This role is essential in managing legal documentation, coordinating case workflows, and ensuring seamless administrative operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong legal experience and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain legal documents, including case files, pleadings, contracts, and correspondence, ensuring proper filing in NY, NJ, and Federal Courts.
- Assist in drafting and preparing legal documents such as briefs, motions, and discovery requests, and coordinate filings in state and federal courts.
- Professionally communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and relevant parties as needed.
- Schedule and oversee appointments, meetings, hearings, and court deadlines, ensuring attorneys remain informed and prepared.
- Provide general administrative support, including drafting correspondence, managing emails, and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Oversee office operations, including coordinating office supplies and equipment, and liaising with headquarters for necessary orders.
- Manage attorneys' calendars, coordinate travel arrangements, and handle other administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or a related field preferred.
- Experience using Best Authority for creating tables of authorities.
- Familiarity with e-filing procedures for NJ, NY, and Federal courts.
- Experience with NetDocuments or other document management systems.
- Knowledge of SurePoint or similar billing software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
