Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams — People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more — provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.
The Role
We're looking for
Associate HR Business Partners (AHRBPs) to join our global HRBP team. Aligned centrally under our
HRBP Enablement team, AHRBPs are embedded within global functions and work alongside HRBPs to operationalize and deliver impactful people programs. Whether it's managing performance processes, supporting rollout and analysis of employee experience surveys, or supporting compensation planning, you'll be essential in scaling and elevating the HRBP function at Block.
You'll gain exposure to high-impact work across the globe, develop technical and strategic skills, and grow through hands-on experience with the support of HRBP mentors and the broader Enablement team. This is a client-facing role where you'll partner directly with employees and managers to provide coaching and guidance, answer questions, facilitate training, and drive day-to-day HR execution within your client group.
The ideal candidate is curious, proactive, and energized by building. You take ownership of your work, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are eager to learn how HR can influence business outcomes. You're organized, detail-oriented, and capable of juggling multiple priorities. You're also someone who sees ambiguity and challenges as opportunities—excited to grow your skills and take on increasingly strategic work over time.
This is a great role for someone who wants to build the fundamental competencies and experiences to eventually develop into a future HRBP. We're hiring multiple Associate HRBPs to support different parts of the business, all centrally aligned under our HRBP Enablement team for consistency, growth, and impact.

- Collaborates with humility: You're a true team player who prioritizes collective success over individual recognition. You assume positive intent, show respect to all, and believe that the best ideas come from working together.
- Takes initiative and solves problems: You have a bias toward action. You don't just surface problems—you bring ideas and options to the table, take ownership, and work toward resolution.
- Stays optimistic, even in ambiguity: You approach challenges with curiosity and a "glass half full" mindset. When faced with complexity or change, you bring steadiness, enthusiasm, and a solutions-first attitude.
Embodies a growth mindset: You ask thoughtful questions, seek feedback, and reflect quickly. You challenge the status quo when needed and treat mistakes as opportunities to grow and improve.
You Will
- Provide guidance and support directly to employees and managers, coaching them on people-related matters and influencing effective decision-making to drive team performance, engagement, and alignment with HR best practices.

- Collaborate closely with HRBPs and COEs to deliver key people programs and projects, including org design, talent reviews, team effectiveness, and policy design.

- Drive or support execution of cyclical programs such as compensation planning, promotion processes and audits, talent reviews, performance evaluations, and employee experience surveys (Pulse).
- Analyze people data and trends to support reporting, insights, and strategic decision-making within your client group.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across the People team—including with People Operations, Compensation, Talent, PAR, and other COEs—to coordinate and deliver seamless experiences.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve HR processes and tools, in partnership with HR Enablement, contributing to a more scalable and efficient operating model.
- Maintain compliance and data accuracy through regular audits and other administrative responsibilities.
- Apply a global perspective when partnering with client groups and cross-functional stakeholders across international markets—ensuring alignment with local employment laws, cultural norms, market-specific practices, and coordination with the appropriate local stakeholders and COE partners.
You Have
- 3-5 years of HR, people operations, project/program management, or a related field
- Strong judgment and discretion when working with sensitive issues; able to identify when to escalate appropriately
- Analytical mindset with a proven ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making through actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal—with the ability to influence and build trust across varying levels of seniority and partners
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- A proactive, principled, and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving, grounded in pragmatism and adaptability
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity with curiosity, resilience, and optimism
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information

- Proficiency in data tools such as Google Sheets/Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, and dashboards)
- Prior experience in an HR generalist, people operations, or business partner support role
- Familiarity with administering cyclical or ongoing people programs, such as performance management, compensation planning, or engagement survey program
