Assists with all activities associated with running the assigned machinery including setup, cleanup, cross training and continuous improvements to operations. The Production Worker works within a team to assist in operating assigned machinery in a safe, efficient and reliable manner. The position holder will follow all pertinent ISO 9001 procedures & processes as well as Group Health & Safety standards and rules.
Primary DutiesÂ
- Assist machine operators where needed
- Performs all product-handling activities (i.e., counting, packing, sealing, labelling, palletizing).
- Reads specification to gather data for Load Tags as per spec cards
- Monitor equipment during operations to ensure tolerances are being maintained
- Perform daily maintenance duties such as cleaning machinery to remove paper dust
- Set up, operate, prepare and assist in make-ready or tend machines cuts paper and paper board
- In charge of starting up machines to verify setups, and make any necessary adjustments
- Place dunnage on pallets and ensure pallet is presentable
- Assists with manual shrink wrapping of pallets
- Maintain at all times the machine at expected housekeeping standards
- Follow all safety rules and procedures
- Assist in troubleshooting when operating issue on machine occur
- Assist other departments and/or areas as requested by management or supervisor
- Participates in any extra curriculum (training & development) activity deemed necessary by management
- Train other colleagues to pass on knowledge & expertise
- Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes.
