A Quality Control Technician ensures that the company's products meet safety and quality standards. The primary responsibilities involve conducting tests and inspections, maintaining records, adhering to industry regulations, and identifying any concerns or issues that could potentially impact the safety and quality of products. The position is responsible for sensory, and physical testing of incoming and finished products, correctly identifying issues and notifying the QC Manager and Shift Supervisors.
Responsibilities:
Collect samples of raw materials, in-process products, and finished products to conduct various tests such as chemical, microbiological, and sensory evaluations.
Calibrate and operate QC testing instrumentation in a safe and professional manner.
Notify QA Manager of unusual product observations, or analytical results, during analysis to assure potential quality issues are identified, reviewed and resolved prior to release of product.
Maintain sample retention inventory.
Ensure all appropriate paperwork (COA’s) accompanies shipments of raw materials.
Maintain an orderly, safe work area.
Maintain retrievable and traceable system of quality documentation.
Comply with MSDS, SOP’s, GMP’s and HACCP procedures.
Participate in conducting monthly regulatory inspections.
Ability to multitask efficiently
Documentation of laboratory work using laboratory worksheets/notebooks; documentation must be detailed, accurate and meet cGMP requirements
Filing, data entry, and ordering (entering lab results in Excel, organization and filing of MSDS and COAs, ordering of lab materials as needed)
Performing routine laboratory maintenance tasks including organization and cleaning of work areas, disposal of product samples, chemicals and hazardous waste
Capable of providing documentation, answer questions, and address any concerns during audits or inspection.
Qualifications:
3-5 years in beverage processing and/or high-speed manufacturing
Associate Degree in chemistry, microbiology, or other relevant scientific field preferred
Must have good computer and math skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
Knowledge of general science concepts
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform repetitious work;
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Repeatedly push and pull up to 50lbs
Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 80% of shift
Squatting, pushing/pulling, and climbing up to 50% of shift.
Twisting, grasping, reaching, turning, stooping, and lifting up to 80% of shift.
