The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the executive team, reporting directly to the CEO. The COO will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end operations across the organization, including clinical laboratory operations, customer experience, logistics, and operational strategy. The role requires a disciplined operator with deep experience building scalable systems and processes in a fast-growing diagnostics or healthcare organization. This individual will ensure operational excellence, cross-functional alignment, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field; Master’s degree (MBA or MHA) preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations within healthcare, diagnostics, biotech, or a related field.
- Prior experience as a member of an executive team and reporting directly to the CEO.
- Strong understanding of clinical laboratory operations and customer experience optimization.
- Experience leading in high-growth and/or private equity-backed environments.
- Proven success in developing scalable operational systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and align all core end-to-end operational areas, including clinical operations, customer experience, logistics, and business operations.
- Align operational strategy with company goals, ensuring quality, efficiency, and scalability.
- Design and implement operational processes that support compliance, productivity, and exceptional customer experience.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and organizational readiness for long-term growth.
- Oversee quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across core operational functions.
- Optimize cost structure and resource utilization while maintaining high standards of service and compliance.
- Build and lead high-performing teams through mentorship, performance management, and clear KPIs.
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, commercial, and clinical teams to support overall business objectives.
