Compensation: Pay range of $80,000-$90,000 plus 10% Bonus

Job Overview: We are seeking a data-loving Financial Analyst to join our growing and fun finance team in Los Angeles! This role will be reporting to the VP of Finance, and you will be responsible for supporting the budgeting/forecasting processes and providing insightful financial analyses and reports across our businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset who can dive deep into data, while also being able to synthesize complex financial insights for senior management or a broader audience. Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly metric reports on the company’s performance in audiobook, eBook and print business.
- Communicate financial insights and “ah-ha” moments to business leaders and senior management to help inform business and strategic decisions.
- Prepare performance and trend analyses for revenues and expenses to support and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning.
- Support the monthly accounting close by preparing workpapers for journal entries and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to implement process workflow improvements and automate system reports and dashboards
- Participate in ad hoc financial projects and special analyses as needed by leadership, such as: preparing for board meetings, annual valuations, and transfer pricing studies.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based work setting.
- Must be able to work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from our office in El Segundo.
- General work hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with the ability to work outside of normal hours for monthly close and time-sensitive projects.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to walk, stand, and move around the office as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, preferably in the media and/or publishing industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
- Proficient in financial modeling and advanced Excel functions.
- Strong understanding of the financial statements, accounting principles, and financial forecasting.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with department leaders and cross-functional teams.
- A collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
