Overview
The
HR Specialist – Employee Support will serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries submitted through Paycom's AskHere platform. This role is responsible for providing timely, professional, and accurate support to LifeLong staff regarding HR policies, payroll and systems. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer service-oriented, and comfortable navigating HRIS systems such as Paycom to resolve issues and enhance the employee experience.
This is a full time, benefit eligible, remote position based out of Berkeley, CA.

Responsibilities
AskHere & Employee Inquiry Support
- Monitor and manage AskHere tickets, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to employee questions and concerns.
- Research and resolve issues related to timecards, payroll and general HR policies.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate HR team members or departments when necessary.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.
- Support employees with system navigation (e.g., timecard entries, paystub reviews).
- Assist with data entry for PAFs and other system-related changes to ensure accurate HR records.
- Troubleshoot technical or data errors in Paycom and coordinate resolution with HR Ops team.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Collaborate with the Payroll and HR teams to assist with pre-payroll data checks, corrections, and follow-ups.
- Support in generating and reviewing reports including but not limited to PAF logs, grant-funded employee reports, and union-related data.
- Ensure updates and actions align with internal policies and compliance requirements.
- Maintain and update employee records in coordination with the HR Ops team.
- Help document recurring issues or questions to support FAQ development and process improvements.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits, compliance checks, and internal reporting needs.
Ad Hoc & Project Support
- Contribute to HR-related projects as assigned by leadership, including workflow enhancements and employee experience initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings to provide feedback and suggest improvements to HR service delivery.
Qualifications
- 4+ years in Human Resources, customer service, or administrative roles (HR support strongly preferred).
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (Paycom experience a plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally.
