Retail Experience Associate Job Description
Olive Ateliers is a lifestyle brand specializing in importing, curating, and retailing vintage, antique, and reclaimed objects and home decor. Our Los Angeles Atelier is looking for a passionate Retail Experience Associate to support the execution of our retail operation. The candidate will be eligible to act across several retail roles and responsibilities. The candidate will report directly to the Retail Experience Lead.
The Retail Experience Associate will, at minimum, be available Wednesday-Sunday within the timeframes of 9:30 am-6:30 pm to service the retail showroom job responsibilities in support of 10 am-6:00 pm retail hours. As our business grows, this role may evolve in a variety of ways to support our needs.
Responsibilities
As our Retail Experience Associate, you will interact with every customer, external partner, and fellow team member in a friendly manner and deliver product and brand expertise. You will be providing a far from average retail experience for all customers, including but not limited to:
Experience Obsession
- Prioritize the customer experience in all decision-making processes
- Maintain exceptional product knowledge, clear communication, and a positive demeanor
- Proactively assess customer needs and deliver thoughtful solutions
- Recommend relevant products and provide styling counsel where applicable
- Support the implementation and enforcement of hold tag policies
- Stay up to date with Olive Ateliers positioning and competitiveness in the marketplace
Retail Operations
- Engage in clienteling and virtual selling through apps such as Google Voice and Endear to cultivate strong customer relationships and drive sales beyond in-store interactions
- Ensure thorough order management prior to Operations hand-off, including delivery quotes, fulfilment forms, value-added service forms, and client follow-up
- Leverage Point of Sale devices and software to process customer transactions
- Work with the team to ensure the Atelier stays pristine throughout the day
- Support daily open and close processes, including cleaning, merchandising, sales, and other critical infrastructure
Position Requirements
- 2+ years retail sales experience
- Customer experience, people, and relationship-driven mindset
- Adaptable, compassionate, and an active listener
- Team player with professional written and strong verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and positive approach to challenges
- Highly organized with strong detail orientation
- Proficiency with Point of Sale and related software
- Strong proficiency with Apple operating systems and Google web applications
- Must be based in Los Angeles and available to work Wednesday-Sunday
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items while utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques
- Ability to maneuver effectively around the Atelier floor, stock room, and office
- Licensed to drive required
- Must be based in Los Angeles
