Job Summary
As a member of the Arizona Cardinals Nutrition Services Department, the Performance Nutrition Associate is responsible for assisting with the overall meal service operation of team and corporate meals during all phases of the year. The Performance Nutrition Associate will execute day-to-day nutrition operations.
Primary Job Duties
- Participates in team meals, afternoon/nighttime snacks, and any nutritional and hydration needs for practice (pre-fuel, refuel, personalized hydration plans, etc)
- Assists in optimizing all aspects of nutrition related to team practices and strength and conditioning sessions (pre- and post-workout fueling and hydration)
- Observes nutrition assessments and counseling of athletes on optimal nutrition practices
- Involvement in day-to-day football nutrition operations including product inventory, ordering, receiving, and distribution of goods
- Develop and design educational materials and manuals using Canva and PowerPoint
- Demonstrate understanding and interpretation body composition assessments results from DEXA
- Assist in meal plan and menu plan development including, but is not limited to, pre- and post-practice snacks, catered snacks, grab-n-go snacks, pre- and post-game meals
- Document nutrition services and performance products provided and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition strategies towards meeting desired outcomes
- Research, evaluation, education, and provision of permissible dietary supplements, as needed/appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in dietetics/nutrition or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience with demonstrated results providing human nutrition or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- On track to obtain Registered Dietitian (RD).
- Registered (Dietitian Technician Registered) credential through Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred.
- Food handler’s card required by start of employment.
- Experienced in all areas of food service management and operations.
- Up-to-date on current trends and research in health, wellness and nutrition.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, TeamWorks/Notemeal, SharePoint, and Canva.
- Experience and ability to contribute to a healthy team environment within an organization united toward the common goals of championship-level performance.
- Can communicate effectively with all individuals across the organization.
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities and meet required deadlines.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity around profession athletes in their work environment.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to eight (8) hours in length.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; hours may vary depending on business needs.
- Must complete all pre-employment forms and successfully pass a background check.
