Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Production Scheduler to act as the primary liaison between our company and key customers. This role is critical in ensuring that customer demands, communicated via daily, weekly, and monthly EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) schedules, are met efficiently across the facility. The Production Scheduler will be responsible for distributing this information across 13 internal departments, ensuring production alignment, and maintaining clear and responsive communication with customers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned key customers.
- Receive and interpret daily, weekly, and monthly EDI schedules to align production planning.
- Coordinate and cascade EDI information to 13 internal departments to ensure timely production and processing of parts.
- Collaborate with the shipping team to determine and verify quantities of parts required for outbound shipments.
- Monitor real-time production and shipping status; provide hourly updates to customers when required, especially for expedited orders or high-priority parts.
- Act quickly and efficiently in the event of disruptions or delays in part availability to minimize impact on the customer.
- Ensure clear, timely, and professional communication with both internal teams and external customers.
- Participating in regular meetings with departments leads to track progress against customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all EDI transmissions, departmental updates, and customer communications.
- Working with engineering, setting up BOM’s and assigning internal and external PN’s to BOM’s and assigning customer PN’s and ship to locations within CMS/AS400 system
Position Requirements:
- Proven experience in account management, production planning, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of EDI systems and scheduling practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); ERP or production software experience a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or logistics facility.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) principles.
- Ability to analyze trends in customer demand and adjust internal workflows accordingly.
- CMS / AS400 experience
