CHG's latest project in Morristown, NJ involves managing multiple food and beverage outlets within a sustainably built, mixed-use property. These outlets include a ground-floor restaurant, conference catering, pantry services, and pop-up concepts.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Receiver to join our team and play a crucial role in the success of our daily operations. The Receiver will be responsible for managing all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy of deliveries, and maintaining organized inventory storage. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, supporting both front and back-of-house operations at a high-performing hospitality property. The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory systems, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
What You'll Do:
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming deliveries for quantity and quality.
- Accurately document deliveries and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
- Ensure all items are properly labeled, stored, and rotated (FIFO).
- Coordinate with chefs, kitchen staff, and purchasing to ensure correct items and quantities are received.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving area and storage spaces.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconcile stock records regularly.
- Monitor delivery schedules and communicate delays or shortages to relevant departments.
- Follow all company policies regarding food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures.
- Support with internal distribution of goods and supplies to relevant departments.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
Requirements
What We Need From You:
- Proven experience in a receiving, stockroom, or inventory-related role, preferably in a hospitality or food service environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with inventory and order tracking systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Understanding of food safety standards and receiving protocols.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- English fluency; Spanish proficiency preferred.
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
