Job Summary
The University Driver ensures a comfortable, safe, and punctual transportation experience for our students and guests to and from various locations. By providing reliable transport services, you contribute significantly to enhancing our overall university experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Transport clients to their destinations in a safe and timely manner, prioritizing their comfort and convenience.
- Utilize navigation apps to determine the most efficient and optimal routes.
- Plan routes considering road and traffic conditions, staying updated with real-time traffic and weather reports.
- Adapt routes as necessary to accommodate changing road conditions and ensure timely arrivals.
- Maintain cleanliness and comfort of vehicle for all passengers.
- Promptly report any vehicle issues to supervisor. the
- Coordinate car wash and detailing services to uphold the cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle.
- Compliance with MIU's safety guidelines and protocols.
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 25 years old to meet insurance requirements.
- Successful completion of MIU safety screening upon hire.
- Smartphone with internet access is required for job-related duties.
- Proven experience as a driver, demonstrating a history of safe and reliable driving.
- Possession of a valid driver's license, and familiarity with GPS navigation devices.
- Knowledge of local roads, neighborhoods, and traffic patterns.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Demonstrated professionalism, politeness, and a calm demeanor in all driving situations.
- 2 years free of moving violations.
- Class D Driver's License is a plus, but not required.
Additional Considerations
- This is an on-call (as needed), on-demand, part-time position, and compensation is based on shift schedule.
- In general, students are NOT qualified to be university drivers.
- University drivers must pass safety training provided by the Security Department in order to operate campus vehicles. Training is provided upon hire.
