Shipping & Packaging Management:
- Oversee the preparation, packing, and shipping of products in compliance with company policies meeting safety standards, company quality guidelines, and customer expectations.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and sizes based on product specifications and ensure timely and accurate shipping of orders while minimizing errors and delays.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve shipping efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to ensure smooth delivery and cost management.
- Monitor packaging and shipping supplies and order as needed.
- Create and or update all packaging and shipping SOP's in accordance with the company's operations.
International Shipping Experience (preferred):
- Skilled in creating domestic and international small parcel shipments using platforms such as WorldShip, ShipStation, Ship Hawk, PaceJet, and Shippo. Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is a plus.
- Proficient in preparing Bills of Lading for Less-than-Truckload (LTL) shipments, including domestic and cross-border solutions.
- Experienced in generating international shipping documents, including commercial invoices and certificates of origin and adept at identifying and resolving foreign clearance issues.
- Strong background working with international freight forwarders, customs brokers, and importers of record.
- Capable of analyzing carrier invoices, auditing charges, investigating unexpected fees, and implementing process improvements to reduce unnecessary costs.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of packaging and shipping associates to meet operational goals.
- Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback and training as needed.
- Maintain a positive work environment and foster teamwork among staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and handle employee issues or concerns in a professional manner.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Adminstration or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in shipping, logistics or packaging management role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, packaging standards, and logistics operations.
- Experience with warehouse management software (WMS) and shipping platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with budgeting and cost-control strategies.
