Job Title: Purchasing & Warehouse Manager
Job Summary: The Purchasing & Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement and inventory management processes at Spot Zero. This role ensures the efficient purchasing, stocking, and availability of products while maintaining cost-effectiveness and supplier relationships. The Purchasing & Warehouse Manager collaborates closely with internal departments to align inventory levels with operational needs and customer demand.
Responsibilities:
Purchasing & Vendor Management:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to optimize costs.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers to enhance product availability and cost savings.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize overstock or shortages.
- Develop and maintain accurate inventory records and reports.
- Implement best practices for demand forecasting and stock replenishment.
- Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor lead times and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
Process Optimization & Cost Control:
- Identify and implement improvements to procurement and inventory processes.
- Work with internal teams to forecast demand and align purchasing accordingly.
- Reduce procurement costs while ensuring product availability and quality.
- Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures to streamline operations.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Work closely with sales, operations, and logistics teams to align inventory levels with business needs.
- Provide reports and insights on inventory performance, purchasing trends, and cost savings.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and inventory data.
- Assist in budget planning and expense tracking related to procurement.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in the marine industry or technical product procurement is a plus.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or equivalent years of experience
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Requires physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
