The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the movement of equipment and inventory among three locations, managing a team of 15 drivers, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and planning efficient routes. The role requires strong analytical skills and an in-depth understanding of operational flow. The Fleet Manager will work closely with the safety team, communicate with the mechanic shop, and maintain alignment with inventory and farm production teams. While the role does not involve maintenance, repair, or budgeting responsibilities, the ideal candidate must be adept at interpreting and applying regulatory requirements.
Fleet Manager Salary And Benefits
- Base salary: $135,000 to $160,000 with performance-based increases.
- Discretionary profit-sharing bonuses after one year.

Fleet Manager Key Responsibilities
- Fleet Operations Management: Oversee scheduling, dispatching, and the efficient utilization of agricultural vehicles and equipment across three locations.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all vehicles and equipment adhere to DOT regulations, safety protocols, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Route Planning & Optimization: Strategically plan and adjust routes to enhance efficiency and meet operational demands.
- Driver Management: Supervise and support a team of 15 drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaboration & Communication: Maintain strong communication with the safety team, inventory teams, farm production units, and the mechanic shop to ensure smooth operations.
- Data & Performance Analysis: Utilize fleet management software and other analytical tools to monitor operational efficiency and compliance trends.
- Regulatory Interpretation & Application: Stay updated on relevant industry regulations and apply them effectively within fleet operations.
Fleet Manager Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in fleet management, preferably within the agriculture, logistics, or transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a team of drivers and coordinate across multiple departments.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
