R&D Engineer/Scientist
We have an opportunity for a R&D Engineer/Scientist to join us at Honeywell, in Portsmouth, where you will be responsible for leading product development and validation through testing, managing lab resources, providing technical support, and documenting experimental work. You will be assisting with project planning and facilitating improvements and obsolescence projects.
This role is 100% onsite at our Portsmouth location.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support all aspects of product development, validation, audits, and multi-departmental testing and analytical methods.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standardized testing methodologies and associated equipment and documentation.
- Manage lab resources, including scheduling, equipment, and staff, ensuring completion of testing across departments.
- Provide technical support and problem-solving for Core and Sustaining product ranges while facilitating product and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate experimental records, conduct data analysis, and assist Project Managers in project planning and control.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Physics, with extensive laboratory or scientific experience.
- Advanced research expertise in new technologies and a solid background in technical support and product development.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams.
- Excellent data processing, report writing, and presentation skills, coupled with a proactive and adaptable attitude.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, ambitious, results-oriented, and a critical self-assessor focused on both short-term and long-term goals.
