Summary
The Warehouse Operations Manager will supervise the receipt, dispatch, and storage of merchandise in our warehouse.
Key Activities
- Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision.
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
- Set up layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security.
- Manage stock control and reconcile with a data storage system.
- Prepare annual budget.
- Liaise with suppliers and transport companies.
- Plan work schedules, assign tasks appropriately, and appraise results.
- Recruit, select, orient, coach, and motivate employees.
- Produce metrics for warehouse functions.
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
- Routinely review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Preferred Skills
- Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
Educations & Experience
- BA/BS degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration (MA/MS in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or organization development & change preferred). Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of warehouse management experience.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
