Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Inventory Supervisor to oversee all aspects of our inventory management. This hybrid role requires a strong understanding of inventory processes and the ability to apply accounting knowledge to produce reports, manage budgets, and ensure accurate inventory control. Must be driven, resourceful, and energetic to oversee all day-to-day Inventory aspects for our growing boat manufacturing company. This person will report directly to the Controller and have visibility to the president and owners. Key Responsibilities
- Daily Inventory control and oversight
- Plan, schedule, order, receive, and keep control of all aspects of the inventory.
- Coordinate purchase orders, manage workflow, and monitor project progress to ensure timely completion.
- Enforce inventory controls and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Team Leadership & supervision
- Conduct regular meetings with supervisors, provide reports, and inventory guidance.
- Quality Control & Customer Satisfaction
- Manage vendor relationships, handle feedback, and resolve any issues or disputes promptly.
- Serve as the main point of contact for high-profile or complex vendor requirements.
- Resource & Inventory Management
- Oversee procurement of parts, supplies, and equipment in coordination with vendors.
- Track inventory levels, optimize stock usage, and negotiate supplier contracts to control costs.
- Identify tools and technologies that can enhance efficiency and quality.
- Budgeting & Cost Control
- Collaborate with the Controller to set budgets and financial targets.
- Monitor expenses, allocate resources, and identify opportunities for reducing costs without compromising quality.
- Generate regular operational and financial reports.
- Process Improvement & Strategic Planning
- Continuously evaluate workflows to streamline processes and improve turnaround times.
- Work closely with upper management to set operational goals and drive the overall success of the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience or familiarity with the boating industry, accounting and/or operations.
- Leadership & Team Management: Proven track record of managing diverse teams, delegating tasks, and fostering a positive work culture.
- Project Coordination: Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple projects at once and meet deadlines.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable discussing inventory management procedures, inventory level issues, vendor setbacks.
- Financial Acumen: Experience with budgeting, cost management, and basic financial reporting.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess operational problems and implement effective solutions.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with scheduling software, inventory management systems, accounting, Microsoft products, and general office applications.
Preferred Experience & Education
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in the marine, operations, or accounting with inventory experience.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting
- Certifications or training in project management
