Position Summary
This position is in the Enforcement and Investigative Support, reporting to the Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse (MEPIC) section. This position requires the ability to work in a collaborative environment, conduct research, collect data and provide excellent customer service.
The position may require working nights, weekends, shifts and on-call hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
Specific duties include:
- Providing analytical services for law enforcement agencies regarding missing and endangered child and adult cases;
- Being responsible for the administration and issuance of Florida’s AMBER, Missing Child, Purple and Silver Alerts which help provide each missing person with the best chance of recovery;
- Managing the statewide Missing Person’s Hotline and determine the appropriate analytical response needed to assist with missing persons cases;
- Serving as regional coordinator for incidents of missing children and missing adults;
- Providing assistance to parents/guardians and others of missing children, missing adults and criminal justice officials regarding missing person cases;
- Processing missing children cases from the Department of Children and Families by providing analytical assistance and the creation of the missing person flyers;
- Assisting in missing child operations by providing analytical assistance;
- Serving as liaison to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to facilitate the distribution of leads and vital data relevant to missing or abused children; and
- As a member of a law enforcement agency, during any critical incident or disaster (both natural and man-made), your position may be designated as an essential service position for a given period, and you may be required to work after normal business hours, during office closures, or during weekends and/or holidays when needed. MEPIC operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, or in a law enforcement agency can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
- Any combination of education or experience, as described above.
- Completion of a 720-hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in law enforcement can substitute for one year of the required education.
Note: 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow, and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices;
- Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials;
- Ability to conduct fact finding research;
- Ability to make decisions and function effectively in high-stress, crisis situations;
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;

Base Salary
Crime Intelligence Analyst I
$41,200 – Bachelor’s degree*
Crime Intelligence Analyst II
$44,290 – Bachelor’s degree* and one year of analytical** experience.
Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst I
$46,350 – Bachelor’s degree* and three years of analytical** experience.
Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst II
$55,620 – Bachelor’s degree* and five years of analytical** experience.
- A master’s degree in criminology, law enforcement intelligence analysis, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis or comparable discipline; or a professional certificate in one of these disciplines can substitute for one year of experience.
- Analytical experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year- for-year basis. Analytical experience must be in the fields of: criminal intelligence, military intelligence, national or homeland security intelligence, crime analysis, law enforcement agency (CIA I/CIA II) or investigative experience in a law enforcement agency (SCIA I/SCIA II).

Salary for these positions will be commensurate with experience and training but are typically filled at the minimum of the class pay range unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy guidelines.
