Responsibilities
The Maintenance Millwright:
- Performs pre and post-operation inspections of plant equipment
- Operates and inspects equipment to diagnose defects and malfunctions
- Identifies root cause of complex equipment malfunctions and recommends repair process
- Dismantles and reassembles plant equipment and components to gain access to areas of concern
- Examines parts for excessive wear and determines reusability
- Repairs replaces, cleans, and lubricates parts and components as necessary
- Diagnoses and repairs plant equipment and components
- Replaces malfunctioning subassemblies and components
- Welds, cuts, and fabricates
- Completes maintenance checklist and tests repaired equipment to ensure accurate completion of repair
- Makes recommendations for equipment to be repaired by outside sources
- Identifies parts needed and notifies Maintenance Supervisor
- Maintains records and reporting
- Provides general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe facility
- Meets customer service requirements
- Complies with all safety regulations and policies
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Maintenance certification or degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Past experience will steel mills, metal stamping equipment, large industrial systems
- Knowledge of processing plants, conveyors systems, feeders, and other components
- Knowledge of electrical systems
- Knowledge of braking systems
- Mechanical skills
- Welding, cutting, and fabricating skills
- Ability to manipulate hand and power tools
- Ability to operate equipment
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to understand manuals
High School diploma or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
