Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Programmer Tasks
- Program, test, and revise machine programming.
- Works with machinists to proof first article programs
- Works with project managers and manufacturing engineers; developing the best process for success
- Analyze blueprints and job orders before programming and compare results with original specifications.
- Sequence automatic machine operations and select cutting tools.
- Program 4 and 5 axis parts; for both mill and lathes using Mastercam X
Qualifications
- Proficient in CNC programming and CAM programming
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Experience with Fanuc and AutoCAD software
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and GD&T
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining and coordinate measuring machines
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Mechanical knowledge and experience with CNC lathe operations
