Position: Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager oversees the daily operational activities of the assigned production area(s). They analyze productivity using operational metrics, identify issues, and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Additionally, they oversee staffing and development of leaders and staff, and facilitates employee relations. The Operations Manager provides leadership, direction, and coordination of assigned manufacturing, production control, maintenance, quality, materials, and process engineering activities across the plant.

- Promotes a safe work environment and ensures team compliance with all safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
- Manages the assigned areas of operations by directing the production activities daily to meet production targets and customer demands.
- Maintains performance metrics and KPIs to monitor and evaluate operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive process optimization initiatives.
- Assists in developing strategic plans and objectives in accordance with plant and company strategy.
- Implements operational strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity across assigned areas of manufacturing.
- Drives a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, leading initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of supervisors and production staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Supports use of standard operating procedures, tools, and metrics to enable successful, consistent operations execution.
- Provides effective leadership for manufacturing operations in the plant which includes responsibilities in EHS, employee engagement, achieving goals in production, machine, and material efficiency, cost out, and quality in conjunction with the business goals and objectives.
- Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and maintenance, to support process improvements, and other strategic initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, operations management, or related field preferred
- Five to seven years of leadership experience in manufacturing, overseeing management of complex and interrelated manufacturing operations
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively coach, mentor, and develop teams
- Experience driving operational excellence, lean tools best practices, and continuous improvement, with demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence, implement process improvements, and achieve measurable results
- Understanding of product manufacturing, utility systems, automation systems, and manufacturing support systems, including experience with process and equipment troubleshooting, investigation and resolution of deviations, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems; experience with manufacturing software and automation technologies is desirable
