Job Description:
Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations which may include skilled hand work or utilizing automated production equipment. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to read and understand description of manufacture (DM, DOM) for operation assembly instruction.
- Ability to handle small parts with tweezers and/ or special tools.
- Operate various types of assembly equipment (assembly machines, press stakes, air screw drivers, etc.) with proper training.
- Visually inspect components and subassemblies for obvious defects prior to, during, and after assembled.
- Check completed assemblies for conformance with quality standards and DMs.
- Maintain assembly/quality records paperwork as required.
- Must be able to work overtime if needed.
Qualifications:
- Requires minimal job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance if required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with various types of precision measurement tools (micrometers, go/no-go gauges, etc.) and blueprint reading required.
- Experience in a manufacturing assembly environment.
- Mechanically inclined
