About The Role
This role seeks to ensure that Uber's platform is secure, with users who are authenticated and unique through the use of statistics, experiment design, and data science model deployment. In this role, you will identify, measure, and mitigate adversarial activities while using technical and business skills to create anti-fraud strategies across Uber.
What The Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
- Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of SQL experience (Hive, Spark, and other big data tools a plus)
- 2+ years of experience in a data-focused role such as product analytics, business analytics, business operations, or data science
- Risk/Fraud/Payments experiences a plus
- Experience in experimentation, A/B testing and statistical modeling would be a plus
- Experience in Python/R
- Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 year of experience in a data-focused role such as product analytics, business analytics, business operations, or data science
- Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or other quantitative field
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Python, R, Tableau
- Proficient at defining, utilizing and communicating performance metrics.
- proven track record of applying analytical/statistical methods to solve real-world problems using big data
- Creative problem solving, critical thinking skills, and get things done attitude
- Hands-on, data-driven, and attentive to detail
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to work in a self-guided manner
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$124,000 per year - USD$130,500 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$124,000 per year - USD$130,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
