The Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing the marketing strategies for Disney Hyperion, Hyperion Avenue and National Geographic books and maps across various formats, including print, ebook, and audiobook. This individual will primarily focus on either children’s or adult imprints but must be capable of marketing across all imprints.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Content Strategy.
This is a full-time, onsite position based out of our New York office.
Responsibilities/You Will:
- Develop marketing campaigns for adult or children’s titles published by Hyperion Avenue and National Geographic, including preorder campaigns, advertising, social media planning, and creative direction.
- Collaborate with Sales, Editorial, and Publicity partners to develop cohesive strategies that drive discoverability for frontlist and backlist titles with new readers.
- Work closely with authors and collaborators to partner on marketing campaign initiatives.
- Create and compile marketing campaign assets for sales materials, such as sell sheets, Amazon+ content, and recaps, to share with internal teams and partners.
- Lead creative approvals for marketing materials.
- Oversee operational aspects of marketing budget and media planning.
- Research new platforms and publishing trends to create engaging campaigns.
Basic Qualifications/You Have:
- 5+ years’ experience in a marketing role, ideally in trade book publishing.
- Strong oral and written communication, including diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
- Develop campaigns and contribute to social posts and taglines using creative writing skills.
- Skilled project manager with a talent for handling multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be willing to travel domestically, approximately 5-10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in publishing, with a focus on children's books, adult books, fiction and/or non-fiction.
- Previous campaign management experience.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position located in New York is $89,900.00 to $120,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
