The General Manager for Temescal Wellness reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for leading the day-to-day and long term strategic production and manufacturing activities in support of the Company’s strategic objectives. The General Manager will work closely with senior leadership to set financial targets, partner with the sales team to convert sales forecasts into production and inventory management plans, actively lead supply chain management/procurement processes for the production facility, determine labor resource needs and CAPEX requirements for the production facility along with ROI business cases. The General Manager manages, directs and implements operations strategies and process workflows to ensure achievement of Company goals and objectives. S/he anticipates and takes action to resolve problems relating to manufacturing, packaging, supply, materials, and manufacturing operations, or other factors that may result in production delays or impact retail operations. The General Manager is a key member of the production management team and has responsibility for both the on-plan and day-to-day performance of the production location.
The General Manager will make recommendations to the senior management team that will inform significant decisions of the company. Successful candidates will provide leadership for production and manufacturing operations to achieve and maintain the highest standards of quality, patient satisfaction, service, and manufacturing capability to accomplish production/sales demand goals. Responsibilities:
- Establish daily/monthly production inventory forecasts
- Align labor to production and sales plans
- Strategically identify CAPEX for machinery to match production plan
- Track and control unit COGS in alignment with business plan
- Monitor quality standards of products in accordance with all state regulations
- Prepare and maintain production reports to be presented on leadership meetings as requested
- Provide direct supervision of the Packaging Management, Inventory/Logistics Management, and Facilities Management team members
- Provide indirect oversight of the following processes in the facility: Processing, Packaging, Inventory Control, Fulfillment, Shipping/Receiving and Transportation
- Lead weekly/monthly meetings with the management team to discuss supply/demand, new projects, and upcoming information
- Responsible and Accountable for long range production scheduling and planning of each functional unit from the beginning of Cultivation to final product delivery at the Retail centers
- Accountable for all Personnel Management including hiring/terminations, performance management, and training for direct reports and skip-level reports
- Lead production and operational management teams ensuring collaboration and cross- departmental efficiencies
- Plan and monitor the day-to-day operations to ensure no interruptions in production
- Monitor key performance indicators, analyze performance data, and coordinate cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives
- Create strategies to improve the efficiencies between Supply Chain, Production, Sales Operations, Finance
- Work closely with Temescal dispensaries and the wholesale sales team to manage product supply and supply chain to ensure timely delivery of Temescal products
- Ensure the operations function is in line with Temescal’s strategy and core values
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and partner with Compliance manager to ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are compliant
- Oversee facility supply and packaging needs and manage vendor relationships
- Partner with Finance Department to develop and monitor efficient product costing; make recommendations for improvement
- Integrating label automation, inventory tracking, and target measurement in StashStock, Canold, and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Etc.)
- Investigating any METRC/CCC/Compliance discrepancies, integrating the solution throughout all processes
- Overseeing all Time-to-Task calculating for respective departments, ensuring average time per process for Bill of Material development
- Deep knowledge of METRC processes, including transfers, testing status, inventory discrepancies and investigations. Setting up permissions for associates and direct reports.
- Knowledge of Sampling regulations including Penny & Quality Control Samples. Overseeing Sample Program.
- Scheduling non-cannabis pick-ups and deliveries.
- Ensuring all OSHA and Law Labor posters are posted and current.
- Creating job descriptions for respective departments.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Compliance for On boarding and New hire processes (Fob, badges, Wurk, Etc.)
- Overseeing Non-cannabis ordering with respect to inventory & lead time
- Inspecting all invoices related to direct reports to reduce costs
- Approving timesheets bi-weekly, adjusting time punches as necessary
- Collaborate with the Executive Team and any consultants / contractors to strategize on construction timelines, ensuring processes are completed on time and in alignment with the production schedule
