Job Summary
Performs manual and clerical duties related to incoming and on-site materials, equipment and supplies.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers
- Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory that is shipped or received
- Checks for certificate of conformance or certificates with material and hardware
- Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel
- Stage parts/material for inspection and assists with movement of parts after inspections
- Delivers items to requisitioning departments
- Operates dollies, pallet jacks, fork lifts, hand trucks in loading and unloading supplies and equipment and to move stock or reorganize storage
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives
- Loads, unloads and moves materials within or around the work site as needed
- Reads work orders or follow oral instructions to move materials or containers
- Assists in unloading/loading materials from vehicles as needed
- Utilizes computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks
- Follows established continuous quality improvement objectives and safety/environmental standards
- Scan's paperwork in the system

- Assist Inventory Control Manager in accurate and thorough counts or issuing of parts and material

Required Skills/Abilities
- Must be able to read and write
- Must be able to maintain accurate records
- Ability to perform/be trained in basic inspections using standard inspection tooling, calipers, tape measure, and steel rule
- Must understand and follow safety/environmental procedures
- Must be able to communicate positively and effectively with other employees and delivery personnel
- Must be able to safely move or re-organize heavy or hazardous materials
- Must be able to operate a forklift or become certified to operate a forklift
- Must be able to receive, track and distribute materials, supplies and equipment
- Must understand and follow safety/environmental procedures
- Must be familiar with computers, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to prepare routine administrative paperwork
- Must be able to read, sort, check, count and verify numbers
- Must have basic math skills
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to safely lift up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to manipulate and lift heavy objects.
- Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to climb stairs, rolling ladders, reach, bend and kneel to retrieve and stock inventory.
