Job Summary
We are seeking to hire a Shipping, Receiving, & Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics Coordinator will oversee and manage all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods in and out of the warehouse. This role will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to guarantee timely and accurate shipments, inventory control, and supply chain management.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive, and organized Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics Coordinator to join our team and help manage the efficient flow of our business in our biorefinery.
To be successful in this position, you must have the aptitude to effectively manage day-to-day tasks and duties, with a high level of ownership.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments by preparing and verifying documentation (invoices, shipping labels, etc.) in accordance with directives given by internal and external customers.
- Load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to schedule deliveries and pickups.
- Track shipments and update systems to monitor product movement.
- Inspect incoming goods for quality, accuracy, and damage.
- Resolve discrepancies or issues related to shipments, including damaged goods, delays, or order inaccuracies.
- Communicate with customers regarding order status, shipping updates, and any potential delays.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments and receipts.
- Manage inventory control to ensure accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Work with other teams to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of products or goods.
- Adheres to safety standards, maintains tools, equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
- Perform labor-type duties such as safety stand-by work, material handling, and some Health, Safety, and Environment checks.
- Safely operate forklift and other mobile equipment.
- Follow OSHA and other safety guidelines to maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment.
- Will assist with running errands as needed.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Advanced education or experience is a plus including an associate degree in logistics or related field, Department of Transportation, or HAZWOPER, and/or forklift certification.
- 3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics. Preferably in logistics, supply chain management, or operations.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving procedures, including customs regulations, dangerous goods declarations, and hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Preference will be given to those that have prior experience working in chemical, petrochemical or refinery environments.
- Experience with chemicals and chemical processes is desired.
- Must have the aptitude and willingness to learn chemical manufacturing principles and follow stringent safety standards that are associated with chemical processing, receiving, storage, and shipping.
- Experience using inventory management and shipping software.
- Must have a high regard for safety and the environment.
- Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with different departments.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items and operate warehouse equipment.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in common computer tools and web-based applications is required.
- Prior experience successfully participating in work teams where personal accountability, attention to detail, collaboration, and results were required.
Physical Demands
Frequent lifting and moving of items up to fifty (50) pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, prolonged standing or sitting may be required. Must have safe work habits and perform all duties in accordance with company safety policies.
This position requires the use of personal protective equipment that may include eye or face protection, gloves, masks, respirators, safety shoes, earplugs, coveralls and/or uniforms that are provided by the company and its use is mandatory. All duties in accordance with company safety policies and practices.
