Job Title: Batchman
Reports to: Operations Manager
Pay Range: $32 - $36/ HR, Depending on Experience

The position of Ready-Mix Concrete Batchman will be responsible for the operation of the assigned batch plant with specific responsibilities relating to the plant’s service area while maintaining a safety-first attitude. This position requires management resources in adherence with all company standards, policies and procedures, as well as compliance with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, TCEQ etc.

Roles & Responsibilities

Establish a culture that supports safety and conducts regular safety meetings. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and company regulatory policies and procedures
Ensures plant is open and ready for operation on time daily and is capable of maximum production
Ensures trucks are properly maintained by drivers, including pre and post trip inspections, tire pressure and cleanliness
Coordinate maintenance projects, service work, and repairs to ensure proper utilization and maintenance of all equipment so that costs and downtime are minimized and all equipment is available when needed
Ensures material inventory are at manageable levels and inspects materials for contamination and/or gradation issues
Ensures utilization of company processes for reporting, monitoring and tracking of production and maintenance activities
Monitors batching operations for quality and efficiency
Strong knowledge of ingredients and additive measures in concrete
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Batch plant or ready mix experience or familiarity with production, equipment, maintenance is preferred
High School Diploma or GED Certification is preferred
Experience with computer software or Microsoft Office products or Command Alkon, Command Batch, Command Dispatch a plus
Must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
Ability to frequently climb stairs and ladders and occasionally work at heights.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, employees, and management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics.
