Transportation Manager

The Transportation Manager leads a team of 90+ drivers and dispatchers, overseeing daily transportation operations to ensure timely and compliant deliveries. This role ensures DOT regulations are met, maintains a productive and safe workforce, and forecasts business volume to optimize scheduling and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise transportation operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and workforce planning.
Oversee fleet management, including equipment procurement, maintenance schedules, and compliance with licensing and permitting.
Develop and manage budgets, implement cost-saving strategies, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
Enforce safety policies, conduct accident investigations, and lead driver safety meetings.
Manage staffing, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
Ensure compliance with DOT and regulatory requirements (driver qualification files, hours of service, IFTA reporting, etc.).
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Logistics preferred.
3-5 years of experience in logistics or distribution.
Knowledge of DOT rules, FMCSA guidelines, OSHA regulations, and fleet management.
Strong leadership, budgeting, and technical skills (Excel, JD Edwards, voice selection technology).
Class A CDL preferred.
